Tinubu denies meeting with CJN, Ariwoola in London

The media advisor to Bola Tinubu, the next president of Nigeria, has refuted reports that his boss had a meeting in London with Olukayode Ariwoola, the country’s chief justice.

According to rumours, Ariwoola flew out of Nigeria in a wheelchair to meet with Tinubu in the UK.

Onanuga claimed the article was “a pure concoction” by hatchet guys in a statement issued on Thursday.

He also explained that Tinubu was still in France resting and has not been to the UK yet.

“To show that the story was a mere salacious fiction, meant to draw traffic to the discredited purveyor, it claimed the Chief Justice left Nigeria for London on 11 March, on a wheelchair to board a plane.

“The President-elect left Nigeria on 21 March, 10 clear days thereafter. What kind of appointment or secret meeting will the two men have arranged in London, with so wide disparate arrival dates, except in the imagination of the false news merchants?

“We can confirm that the President-elect, who left Nigeria Tuesday has not been in London,” the statement read in part.

It further warned Nigerians and the media to be wary of more fake news as the countdown to the presidential inauguration on May 29 continues.
