VP Osinbajo meets vice president-elect, Shettima
Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president of Nigeria, met with Senator Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, on Thursday at the State House.
After his private meeting, Shettima addressed with State House reporters and said the vice president had requested his visit.
“At the instance of His Excellency, the Vice President, who is a friend, who is a contemporary, I came in just to exchange pleasantries and cross-pollinate ideas on how to move the nation forward.
“He took me round the offices out of courtesy and I want to commend him; I want to thank him for extending that courtesy for me; just cross-fertilization of ideas.”

The incoming vice president insisted that the Tinubu/Shettima administration wouldn’t have the luxury of time and that they would get started right away after taking office.
“I believe President Tinubu will hit the ground running from Day 1; we do not have the luxury of time.
I will be the vice president. I don’t want to be presumptions; I don’t want to make loud proclamations, but my good feeling and my interactions with him tend to show that we will hit the ground running from Day 1.”
Shettima described receiving the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) national accolade from President Muhammadu Buhari as a humble experience.
The incoming vice president solicited the support of all Nigerians and the media to enable the new administration to build a new Nigeria.
