In a display of solidarity with the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to combat criminal activities, the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services (NHFSS) in Adamawa state have pledged their support to the troops of 23 Brigade.

The Commander of NHFSS Adamawa State Chapter, Mr. Aminu Hammanjoda Furo, affirmed this commitment during a courtesy visit to the Brigade Commander at the Headquarters 23 Brigade in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, on February 22, 2024.

Mr. Aminu Furo highlighted the organisation’s formation with the primary goal of promoting peace and security, particularly in remote communities with limited security presence. He conveyed the readiness of NHFSS to provide timely security information to aid the swift response of troops in eliminating criminals who exploit forests as hideouts for heinous acts.

In response, Brigadier General Paul Kefas Zawaya, the Commander of 23 Brigade, commended the efforts of the hunters and assured them of his support. “We committed to extensive collaboration with various individuals, groups, or organisations to fulfill the mandate of maintaining a peaceful society. Hence, yours is a welcome idea,” he said.

General Zawaya also praised the foresight of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for facilitating the hunters’ collaboration with security agencies to combat criminalities in the state. While urging neutrality, fairness, and justice from NHFSS members, he reiterated the importance of timely information sharing with security agencies to effectively address the activities of miscreants.

The visit concluded with a group photograph capturing the collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the Hunters in the collective effort to enhance security in Adamawa State.
