COAS Emphasises Ethical Leadership and Resource Management

The Nigerian Army’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, engaged with participants of the Army War College Nigeria’s Course 8/2024, underscoring the importance of ethical leadership and efficient resource management for operational success.

In his address at the College Hall in Abuja, General Lagbaja called on the future commanders to embody integrity and innovation in addressing the nation’s security challenges.

The COAS highlighted his command philosophy, which includes a focus on readiness, adaptability, and investment in troop training to enhance the Nigerian Army’s strategic objectives. He also pointed out the recent achievements under his administration, such as the provision of combat support for anti-terrorism operations, infrastructural improvements, and welfare enhancements for army personnel and their families.

Maj Gen Ishaya Maina, the Commandant of AWCN, noted that the session aimed to align the participants’ understanding with the COAS’ vision and the role they play in its realiSation. The current module of the course involves active collaboration with various government entities, emphasising the need for a united approach to national security. The Nigerian Army continues to prioritise the development of its leaders to meet the evolving demands of security and defense.
