In a swift response to actionable intelligence, troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for Counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State successfully ambushed terrorists on transit with arms in the Birnin Gwari axis of the state on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
The troops strategically laid in ambush around Kwaga Village, targeting terrorists notorious for instigating mayhem within the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. During the operation, one terrorist was neutralised, forcing the others to flee in disarray.
The timely action of the troops not only averted a potential attack on innocent citizens in the area but also resulted in the recovery of significant weapons. Among the recovered items were 2 AK 47 Rifles with magazines, along with 2 motorbikes believed to be used by the terrorists for their nefarious activities.
Currently, troops are actively pursuing the fleeing terrorists, demonstrating the military’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Kaduna State.
