Young Estate Surveyors and Valuers Forum Holds Capacity-Building Seminar in Abuja, Harps on Professional Growth

The Young Estate Surveyors and Valuers (YESV) Forum, Abuja Chapter, held a significant capacity-building seminar on Tuesday, focusing on the theme “Towards Becoming a Successful Estate Surveyor and Valuer: Required Qualities and Virtues.”

The event aimed to equip young professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving real estate industry.

In his welcome address, the YESV Abuja Chairman, ESV Funso Ibikunle, highlighted the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in the field of estate surveying and valuation.

“Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards professional growth, capacity building, and the advancement of the real estate industry,” he said.

The seminar featured discussions on emerging trends and best practices in valuation, including the expanding scope of intellectual property asset valuation, covering copyrights, trademarks, and brands.

“We will be exposed to new trends, best practices, and cutting-edge tools that will empower us to be more efficient, effective, and ethical in practice,” Ibikunle added, underscoring the forum’s dedication to high professional standards.

Acknowledging the support of key figures within the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Ibikunle thanked the 26th President of NIESV, ESV Victor Adekunle Alonge, and other institution leaders for their commitment to nurturing the next generation of estate surveyors.

He also expressed appreciation to ESV Utchay Okorji, the lead speaker, and other resource persons for sharing their expertise and insights with participants.

Ibikunle encouraged attendees to actively participate, noting the seminar’s interactive format as an opportunity to network and deepen their knowledge.

“Let us seize this opportunity to expand our knowledge, network with peers, and position ourselves for leadership roles within the profession,” he urged.

In his presentation, ESV Utchay Okorji, the lead speaker at the event, emphasised that becoming a successful estate surveyor and valuer demands hard work and intentionality.
