Florida PE Teacher, 22, Arrested for Allegedly Sending Explicit Messages, Photos to 13-Year-Old Student

A young physical education teacher in Florida has been arrested after authorities say she exchanged inappropriate photos and messages with a 13-year-old student at the private school where she worked.

Yezmar Angeanis Ramos-Figueroa, 22, was taken into custody on Wednesday by detectives from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. According to records from Osceola County Corrections and Jail Services, she is facing two felony counts: distributing obscene material to a minor and transmitting harmful material to a minor.

Investigators say the case began in mid-October when the victim’s mother reported concerns about inappropriate communication between her child and the teacher. Ramos-Figueroa was employed as a PE instructor at Central Pointe Christian Academy’s middle school campus in Kissimmee, roughly 20 miles south of Orlando.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said detectives later obtained text messages and photographs allegedly sent by Ramos-Figueroa to the student. During questioning, officials reported that she admitted to texting the victim and sending at least one photograph.

Ramos-Figueroa is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail with bond set at $5,000 for each charge, totaling $10,000. Both offenses are classified as third-degree felonies in Florida, each carrying a potential penalty of up to five years in prison if she is convicted.

Authorities say the investigation remains active. The school has not yet issued a public statement regarding the arrest.
