Teresa Ameh Set to Launch Two New Children’s Books in Abuja

Children’s author Teresa Ameh, popularly known as Aunty Talatu, is set to unveil two new titles on Monday, 15 December, 2026, at the Chelsea Hotel, Abuja. The event is expected to attract young readers, educators, parents, librarians, and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s growing children’s literature community.
Ameh, celebrated for her engaging storytelling style, has consistently championed reading culture among Nigerian children through relatable characters and lively narratives. Her new books— Moriamo and the Bowl of Cashew, and The Rise of the Phoenix — continue her commitment to producing literature that entertains while teaching values.
The launch, under the chairmanship of Hon. Tijani Aliyu Ahmed, will feature readings, interactive sessions with children, book signings, Schools across the FCT have also been invited to participate.
Ameh, author of Drop the Phone, Aunty Talatu, The Torn Petal, The Only Son, and several other well-loved titles, has become one of the most recognisable voices in Nigerian children’s literature. Her works are often praised for addressing social issues with simplicity, humour, and emotional depth.
The December 15 event at Chelsea Hotel promises to be both a celebration of creativity and a contribution to the much-needed revival of reading culture in Nigeria.
