Midway through his performance, the legendary rapper paused to address the crowd, delivering a heartfelt speech that drew loud cheers and applause from fans. Reflecting on the 15-year gap since his last visit, Busta Rhymes described the trip as deeply personal and far more meaningful than just another stage appearance.

“Even though it took 15 years, we are home,” he told the audience. “This trip is memorable to me because it’s not just about a show.”

The rapper revealed plans to establish stronger roots in Nigeria, disclosing his interest in acquiring property and eventually settling in the country. He also humorously hinted at personal aspirations, expressing openness to finding a life partner in Nigeria.

“I’m looking for a home here, I’m looking for property,” he said. “I’m thinking about looking for a wife so that when I stop working, I can settle down here. I need a few Nigerian slash Jamaican grandchildren.”

The comments quickly went viral on social media, with fans celebrating his embrace of African heritage and his openness to making Nigeria a long-term base. Busta Rhymes’ appearance added star power to the Detty December festivities, which continue to attract global artists and spotlight Lagos as a major cultural and entertainment hub.
