Zulu Women Stage Protest Against Xenophobic Attacks in South Africa

A group of Zulu people women in South Africa staged a protest against rising xenophobic tensions, declaring that they do not want to lose their Nigerian and Zimbabwean husbands to attacks targeting immigrants.

The women, who demonstrated publicly while chanting solidarity messages, condemned violence and hostility against foreign nationals living in the country. According to participants, the protest was aimed at promoting peace, unity, and coexistence among Africans regardless of nationality.

During the demonstration, the women insisted that their husbands from Nigeria and Zimbabwe “cannot go anywhere,” expressing frustration over recurring xenophobic attacks that have affected immigrant communities in South Africa over the years.

The protest comes amid renewed concerns over anti-immigrant sentiments and sporadic violence in parts of South Africa, where foreign nationals have at times been targeted over economic and social tensions.

The demonstrators called for tolerance and urged communities to reject violence, emphasizing that many cross-border families have built homes and lives together in the country.
