Abbas Tajudeen Calls for Unity, Continuity at APC National Convention 2026

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has described the ongoing reforms under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as necessary steps toward building a stronger and more stable Nigeria.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention 2026 in Abuja, Tajudeen said the gathering marked a defining moment for both the ruling party and the country, stressing the importance of unity and sustained commitment to national development.

He noted that the current administration had deliberately chosen the path of reform over short-term convenience, acknowledging that while the process requires patience and sacrifice, it is already laying the foundation for long-term progress. According to him, these efforts are reflected in improved transparency, increased revenues to states, ongoing infrastructure development, and enhanced coordination in the security sector.

The Speaker emphasized that reform is a continuous process that must be supported by political stability across both the executive and legislative arms of government. He highlighted the importance of experience and institutional memory within the National Assembly in ensuring that ongoing policies and programmes are effectively sustained.

Tajudeen also reaffirmed the commitment of the North-West region and APC structures nationwide to party unity, grassroots mobilisation, and delivering tangible results for Nigerians.

He urged party members to remain focused, disciplined, and united in order to strengthen the APC and support the government’s efforts toward building a more responsive and prosperous nation.
