AFN Reaffirms Loyalty, Celebrates Democracy Day with Nigerians

 

In a heartfelt message to the nation, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), extended warm felicitations on behalf of the officers and men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and all Nigerians as the country marks Democracy Day.

This message was conveyed in a press statement signed by Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau,  made available to newsmen in Abuja today.

General Musa reaffirmed the unwavering commitment and loyalty of  Armed Forces to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

He emphasised that the AFN remains dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians. The Armed Forces, he noted, will continue to collaborate with national and sub-national institutions to entrench constitutional governance.

 

The CDS acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in various operations across the country, which underscore their commitment to the unity and growth of Nigeria.

He urged all military personnel to uphold democratic principles, safeguard citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment for everyone.

 

General Musa also called on all Nigerians to remain positive in the face of current challenges and to support the Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism and criminality.

He assured the nation that victory is within reach.
