Ambassador Kouyateh Urges Meaningful Support for Liberia’s Armed Forces
Ambassador-at-Large for Special Duties and Special Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Liberia, Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh, has called for renewed national commitment to the welfare of the country’s Armed Forces, stressing that tribute must go beyond words.

“Today, we salute our brave men and women in uniform,” Kouyateh said. “To those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we pay our deepest respects. To those who continue to serve, we honor your courage and dedication.”
However, he emphasized that recognition alone is insufficient.
“True honor is demonstrated through action,” he stated. “Our service members deserve fair compensation, access to quality healthcare, educational opportunities for their families, and decent housing. We cannot praise their bravery while overlooking their welfare, nor can we demand loyalty from those whose sacrifices are not adequately valued.”
Kouyateh urged both government and citizens to stand firmly behind the Armed Forces, noting that national stability and peace depend on the well-being of those entrusted with the country’s security.
“Our safety rests on their commitment,” he added. “Let us match our gratitude with tangible support and ensure that those who protect the nation are themselves protected and respected.”
