Amb. Buratai turbaned Garkuwan Keffi
The immediate past Chief of Army Staff and Nigerian ambassador to Benin Republic, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai (rtd) has been turbaned “Garkuwan Keffi”.
While turbaning the Lt-Gen Buratai on Saturday at his palace in Keffi town of Nasarawa state, the Emir Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa, said the gesture became necessary due to Buratai’s efforts in tackling security challenges ravaging Nigeria during his time as the Chief of Army Staff.
Describing Lt-Gen Buratai as an agent of development, Emir Yamusa charged many people in various key government positions to use their offices for the development of the entire Nigeria, urging them to emulate the qualities of the former army boss.
On his part, the chief celebrant, Amb. Tukur Buratai expressed his gratitude for the honour given to him, stressing that it would spur him to do more for the development of Nigeria as to whom much is given, much is expected.
Pouring encomiums on the chief celebrant, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamu (SAN), said Lt-Gen Buratai (rtd) deserved the honour given to him by Emir Yamusa because he (Buratai) has paid his dues in contributing to the development of the nation, asking God to give him wisdom in his endeavors.
