Buratai Hosts Dignitaries as Daughter’s Introduction Transitions into Wedding Fatiha
A solemn family visit to the residence of former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Yusuf Buratai, on Monday, April 6, 2026, blossomed into a full wedding Fatiha, in a ceremony marked by dignity, elegance, and joy.

The event, which began as an introductory visit by prospective in-laws seeking the hand of Buratai’s daughter in marriage, seamlessly progressed into the marriage rites, creating a memorable and heartwarming occasion for both families.
The ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, while the wedding Fatiha was officiated by Imam Bashir, who led prayers and offered blessings for the couple.
The gathering attracted a distinguished array of guests from across Nigeria’s political, military, and traditional institutions. Attendees included members of the National Assembly, representatives of the Federal Executive Council, diplomats, and delegations representing the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff.
Also present were representatives of the Emirs of Biu and Keffi, alongside senior military officers, both serving and retired, as well as prominent Islamic scholars, including Ahmad Suleiman.
Other notable dignitaries in attendance included former Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya, senior defence officials, respected businessmen, and academics such as Professor Kyari Mohammed.
The ceremony reflected a blend of cultural tradition and national prominence, underscoring the strong ties between families and the wider community, while celebrating a union marked by unity, faith, and shared joy.
