Court Orders Final Forfeiture of N178.9 Million, Properties Linked to Alleged Illegal Activities
Justice C. J. Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of ₦178,966,938, alongside several landed properties and vehicles, to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The ruling was delivered on Monday, February 10, 2026. The assets were traced to Stanley Akaria Chinemerem and were found to be reasonably suspected as proceeds of unlawful activities.
According to the court, the forfeited items include cash sums, multiple real estate assets, and vehicles linked to the suspect, following investigations that established their connection to illegal dealings.
The forfeiture order reinforces ongoing efforts by authorities to recover assets acquired through unlawful means and strengthen the fight against financial crimes in the country.
