Court Reserves Ruling on Bail Application in ₦2.04bn NRC Money Laundering Trial
Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, has reserved ruling until June 2, 2026, on a bail application filed by one of the defendants in the alleged ₦2.04 billion money laundering case involving officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
At the resumed hearing on Monday, counsel to the first defendant, Mordecai Adejo, informed the court that he had filed a motion for bail on behalf of his client, Felix Njoku.
Adejo told the court that the application, dated February 3, 2026, was supported by a four-paragraph affidavit and a written address, both of which he adopted in urging the court to grant bail to the defendant.
Felix Njoku, a former Director of Finance at the Nigerian Railway Corporation, is standing trial alongside others over allegations bordering on money laundering involving about ₦2.04 billion.
After listening to submissions from counsel, Justice Abike-Fadipe adjourned the matter till June 2, 2026, for ruling on the bail application.
