This latest price reduction follows the refinery’s previous reduction to N1,000 just two weeks ago. The Head of Communication, Mr Anthony Chiejina, explained that this initiative is “in line with the company’s commitment to alleviating economic hardships in Nigeria, ” he said, announcing a strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas stations to ensure that consumers have access to affordable fuel prices across all their stations nationwide.

President Tinubu previously praised Mr Dangote for the initial price reduction, describing it as an “enterprising feat.”

Reacting to the latest development, The Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr. Ajayi Kadiri, emphasised the positive impact of Dangote Refinery’s decision on the national economy, highlighting its potential to ease inflation rates and revitalize critical sectors such as industrial operations, transportation, logistics, and agriculture.

It will be recalled that the Dangote Refinery Complex, situated in Lagos was officially commissioned by the former, President Muhammadu Buhari, just a few weeks before the expiration of his tenure, amidst hingh expectations from Nigerians.
