DG NEMA, Dignitaries Celebrate Launch of “The Power of a Teenager” to Inspire Young Leaders
The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, joined other eminent personalities at the public launch of the book “The Power of a Teenager: 50 Ways to Inspire Change”, authored by Member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Bamidele Salam, in Abuja on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Umar, who attended as Special Guest, described the publication as a timely and inspiring contribution to fostering a new generation of socially conscious young leaders. She praised Hon. Salam for dedicating his work to equipping teenagers with practical tools to drive community development, national growth, and meaningful social transformation.

Hon. Salam explained that the book was written to inspire teenagers and young leaders to become agents of positive change through his Non-Governmental Organization, the Children of Africa Leadership and Values Development Initiative (CALDEV).
He added that the public presentation coincided with Universal Children’s Day and marked the grand finale of the CALDEV National Children Leadership Conference, an initiative focused on nurturing and grooming young leaders across Nigeria.
The event highlighted the importance of empowering teenagers with knowledge, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility, reinforcing the notion that youth are critical drivers of societal progress.
