DJ Cuppy Explains Why She Abandoned Signature Pink Style After 17 Years

Nigerian disc jockey and entertainer, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has explained why she moved away from wearing pink, which had become her signature colour for many years.

The DJ said her decision was influenced by personal growth and a better understanding of her identity, noting that she no longer felt the need to be associated with one particular colour.

Cuppy explained that pink represented power, vibrancy, self-expression and femininity, adding that these qualities remained part of her personality even though she had started expressing them through different colours.

Reflecting on her journey in the male-dominated music industry, she said she initially embraced pink as a way of celebrating her femininity and establishing her identity as a young woman in the entertainment industry.

However, after 17 years, she said she had grown beyond the need to depend on a particular colour to define who she was.

She emphasised that moving away from pink did not mean abandoning the values it represented, but rather embracing a new phase of personal growth and self-expression.
