Facebook Partners Funke Akindele for London, Lagos Premieres of ‘The Four’
Facebook has partnered with Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele for the London and Lagos premieres of her forthcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, in a move aimed at promoting Nigerian storytelling and connecting creators with global audiences.
The partnership will support the film’s world premiere in London and its homecoming premiere in Lagos, bringing together creators, celebrities and movie lovers.
Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, Oluwasola Obagbemi, said the collaboration would highlight how Facebook helps creators connect with fans, build communities and reach audiences around the world.
He added that creators can use the platform to build meaningful relationships with their fans and earn from original content.
Akindele expressed excitement about the partnership, saying it would help take African stories to wider audiences globally.
The collaboration will also provide fans with exclusive behind-the-scenes content, premiere preparations, red-carpet moments and updates from both events through Meta Africa’s Facebook page and the official Facebook pages of Funke Akindele and FAANTV.
The film, scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 11, 2026, explores themes of friendship, motherhood, resilience and loyalty. Its cast includes Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu and other Nollywood stars.
The partnership further highlights the growing international reach of Nollywood and the role of digital platforms in connecting Nigerian filmmakers and their stories with audiences across the world.
