The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to stronger collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to promote national values, responsible citizenship, and enhance public confidence in policing.

The commitment was made on Wednesday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, when the Director-General of the NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police.

During the meeting, the NOA Director-General reiterated the Agency’s resolve to deepen public enlightenment, civic responsibility, and the promotion of shared national values. He highlighted the Nigeria Identity Project and the National Values Charter as strategic initiatives aimed at fostering national unity and cohesion.

Issa-Onilu also proposed enhanced collaboration between the NOA and the Nigeria Police Force in the areas of public sensitisation, intelligence sharing, and early conflict prevention to strengthen national security and social harmony.

In his remarks, IGP Disu stressed the importance of professionalism, ethical policing, and respect for human dignity as key pillars for building public trust in the Police Force.

He further encouraged responsible use of social media, urging Nigerians to verify information before sharing it and to promote positive values, particularly among young people.

The Inspector-General reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to sustained partnership with the National Orientation Agency, noting that stronger institutional collaboration will contribute significantly to national security, responsible citizenship, and Nigeria’s overall development.
