Speaking during a World Press Conference in Abuja, the Convener of the conference, Dr Charles Awuzie, said the event would serve as an independent and non-partisan platform for dialogue, innovation, policy engagement, and strategic partnerships within Nigeria’s broader security architecture.
The press conference is being held today, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Westpoint Hotel
The National Private Security Conference 2026, which is billed for June 13, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre, will be held under the theme: “Building a Modern Security Ecosystem: Integrating Private Sector Capacity into Nigeria’s National Security Architecture.”
Awuzie noted that Nigeria is facing increasingly complex security threats that require innovative and collaborative responses involving both public and private sector actors.
According to him, security can no longer be viewed as the sole responsibility of government institutions, stressing that successful security frameworks across the world increasingly rely on partnerships among governments, private security operators, technology innovators, investors, researchers and local communities.
He emphasized that the conference is not intended to replace existing security institutions, regulatory bodies or industry associations, but rather to provide a strategic platform for stakeholders to explore practical ways of strengthening national security through collaboration.
The convener disclosed that the conference is expected to attract key figures from Nigeria’s security and governance sectors, including the Minister of Defence, senior military officers, police leadership, intelligence officials, lawmakers, defence industry executives, international security experts, technology innovators, investors, researchers and policymakers.
Discussions at the conference will focus on critical issues such as security policy, intelligence integration, public-private partnerships, defence manufacturing, emerging technologies, surveillance systems, artificial intelligence, security financing and the future of Nigeria’s security architecture.
Awuzie stated that organisers are committed to ensuring that the conference produces practical outcomes capable of supporting policy development, industry growth, investment opportunities and stronger security outcomes for the nation.
He called on government agencies, security institutions, development partners, industry leaders, investors, the media and other stakeholders to participate actively in the conference and contribute to building a safer, stronger and more resilient Nigeria.
The National Private Security Conference 2026 is expected to serve as a platform for advancing conversations on modern security solutions while promoting stronger collaboration among stakeholders within Nigeria’s security ecosystem.
