The Wife of the Governor of Niger State, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, has called on women across the state to unite and work collectively to promote greater participation in leadership, governance and grassroots development.

The First Lady made the call during a strategic meeting with stakeholders of the Tinubu Touchbearers/Tinubu-Bago Touchbearers Movement.

She described women as the largest voting bloc and stressed their important role in strengthening democracy and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Hajiya Fatima urged the movement to intensify the mobilisation of women, particularly those in rural communities, noting that meaningful development could only be achieved through unity and a shared vision.

She said the movement, inaugurated by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was established to deepen grassroots mobilisation and provide a platform for increased participation of women in national development.

The First Lady commended the State Coordinator of the movement, Hajiya Hannatu Salihu, for her commitment and visibility across the 25 local government areas of Niger State.

She urged the coordinator and members of the movement to continue building inclusive structures that would accommodate every woman willing to contribute to the development of the state.

Hajiya Fatima assured members that no woman would be left behind, adding that her office would work closely with the movement to achieve its objectives.

She also stressed the importance of identifying and nurturing young women leaders by providing them with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to society.

The First Lady reaffirmed her support for initiatives aimed at empowering women politically, socially and economically, while urging members to remain united and committed to grassroots engagement.

The meeting concluded with plans for an inaugural stakeholders’ meeting to strengthen the movement’s structure and expand its reach across all 25 local government areas of Niger State.

Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago also assured stakeholders of her attendance at the forthcoming meeting.
