Nigerian Ports Authority, Minister of Marine Present 2026 Budget to National Assembly

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), led by its management team alongside the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, appeared before the National Assembly in Abuja to present the 2026 budget for the Ministry and discuss strategic initiatives for Nigeria’s maritime sector.

The delegation engaged the Joint Committees on Marine and Transport (Senate) and Ports and Harbour (House of Representatives), highlighting plans to optimize the nation’s ports, enhance operational efficiency, and position Nigeria as a leading maritime hub in Africa.

This engagement aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes reform across critical sectors, including the marine and blue economy.

Under Minister Oyetola’s leadership, the NPA is committed to transforming Nigeria’s ports into world-class, competitive, and efficient centers for maritime activities, while strengthening collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature to ensure the successful implementation of modernization programs and improved service delivery.

The Ministry and NPA reaffirmed that with clear vision, political will, and institutional synergy, Nigeria’s maritime sector is poised for greater resilience, global relevance, and sustainable growth.
