The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Female Squad has marked its fifth anniversary with a series of humanitarian and community service activities aimed at supporting security personnel and vulnerable communities in the Federal Capital Territory.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, members of the Squad distributed food items, including bags of rice, gari and refreshments, to personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stationed at various duty posts along the Abuja–Lokoja Expressway.

The gesture, according to the Corps, was designed to appreciate the dedication and sacrifices of frontline security operatives who work tirelessly to ensure public safety and national security across the country.

The Female Squad also extended its outreach programme to residents of Ledi I, Ledi II and Dobi communities in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, where food items and relief materials were distributed to vulnerable and less privileged members of the communities.

The Corps said the initiative was made possible through the support of sponsors and partners, including the ARK Foundation led by Barrister Mina, whose contributions enhanced the success of the programme.

The Squad further acknowledged the support of the NSCDC Chaplaincy Unit for its guidance and assistance throughout the community visits.

According to the NSCDC, the anniversary activities reflected the Female Squad’s commitment to service, compassion, community engagement and operational excellence, while reinforcing the people-centred approach championed by the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

The Corps noted that beyond celebrating a major milestone, the outreach programme underscored the Squad’s dedication to supporting fellow security personnel and improving the welfare of communities through meaningful interventions.

The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community partnerships and sustaining initiatives that promote public safety, humanitarian service and national development.

Babawale Afolabi, Assistant Commandant of Corps and National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, disclosed this in a statement.
