NSCDC Holds Strategic Quarterly Meeting, Prioritises Intelligence Gathering, Inter-Agency Collaboration
The top management of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has convened its strategic quarterly meeting in Abuja, with a renewed focus on strengthening intelligence gathering and enhancing collaboration among security agencies to address emerging security challenges across the country.
Addressing participants at the meeting, the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, emphasized the importance of the quarterly briefing as a platform for reviewing evolving security dynamics and developing practical strategies to improve the Corps’ operations.
Professor Audi noted that timely, credible and actionable intelligence remains one of the most effective tools for tackling the security threats confronting the nation.
He stressed that intelligence gathering and proper information sharing across all formations of the Corps must be significantly improved to enhance operational effectiveness and support national security efforts.
According to the Commandant General, collaboration, coordination and cooperation among security agencies are critical to addressing the complex security challenges facing the country.
“Collaboration, coordination, and cooperation are absolutely essential if we are to strategically respond to the threats bedeviling Nigeria’s corporate existence,” he stated.
He urged participants, including Deputy Commandants General, Assistant Commandants General, Zonal Commanders and State Commandants, to strengthen synergy with sister security agencies and work collectively toward maintaining peace, stability and public safety across Nigeria.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Deputy Commandant General in charge of Technical Services, Zakari Ibrahim Ningi, said the high-level meeting was convened at the instance of the Commandant General to assess the Corps’ operational engagements and identify areas requiring improvement.
DCG Ningi commended the leadership of the Commandant General for institutionalising the quarterly strategic meetings, noting that they have continued to provide a valuable platform for addressing contemporary security challenges and generating practical solutions.
He expressed confidence that deliberations at the meeting would further strengthen the operational capacity of the Corps and enhance its ability to deliver on its mandate of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
The meeting brought together senior officers of the Corps from across the country to review ongoing operations, share experiences and develop strategies aimed at improving service delivery and national security outcomes.
