Olu of Warri Hails Sierra Leone Visit, Reaffirms Commitment to African Unity

His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, has expressed deep appreciation to the Government and people of Sierra Leone following a series of diplomatic and cultural engagements during his recent visit to the country.

In a statement reflecting on the visit, His Majesty extended gratitude to President Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Maada Bio for their warm hospitality, generosity, and gracious reception throughout his stay.

He also conveyed goodwill to the people of Sierra Leone, reaffirming the importance of African unity, shared heritage, and strategic collaboration in advancing the continent’s future.

During the visit, the traditional ruler held strategic meetings with President Julius Maada Bio, the Vice President, the First Lady, and other senior government officials as part of efforts to deepen cultural diplomacy and leadership exchange across Africa.

His Majesty also participated in the 2nd Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium, where he delivered a keynote address and joined a high-level panel discussion alongside prominent African and global figures, including former President of Malawi, Joyce Banda, and former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Patricia Scotland.

Beyond official engagements, the Olu of Warri visited key historical and cultural landmarks, including the National Museum, the Peace Museum, and Leicester Peak, where he explored Sierra Leone’s heritage and national history.

His Majesty’s visit further strengthened cultural and diplomatic ties, while reinforcing calls for unity, shared values, and collaborative development among African nations.
