Operation Hadin Kai Intensifies Pressure on Terrorists, Arrests Six Collaborators in Borno
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have intensified intelligence-led operations against terrorist groups in the North-East, resulting in the arrest of six suspected ISWAP collaborators, the surrender of family members of a senior ISWAP commander and the recovery of terrorist logistics items.
In one of the operations conducted on July 27, 2026, troops of the 5 Brigade arrested six suspected ISWAP collaborators in Damasak, Borno State.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly generated funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango.
Items recovered from the suspects included a Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones, cow meat and ₦317,950 in cash.
The suspects remain in military custody and are undergoing further investigation.
ISWAP Commander’s Wife and Son Surrender
In a separate development on July 29, 2026, the wife of an alleged ISWAP Chief Finance Operative and her 11-year-old son surrendered to troops of the 3 Battalion through Kusuma Village.
Preliminary investigations revealed that her husband, identified as a senior ISWAP commander who reportedly served as the group’s Chief Finance Officer in Jubillaram, had surrendered on July 25, 2026 and subsequently instructed his wife and son to leave the terrorist enclave and surrender to the military.
The woman and her son have been screened and are undergoing further profiling in accordance with established procedures.
Troops Recover Motorcycles and Illicit Drugs
Also, troops of the 145 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a clearance operation in Turoh.
The terrorists reportedly fled into the surrounding area after sighting the advancing troops. During a subsequent search of the area, troops recovered two motorcycles and large quantities of illicit hard drugs allegedly abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
The latest operations demonstrate the Nigerian military’s continued focus on disrupting terrorist networks by targeting their financial, logistical and support structures, while also encouraging members of terrorist groups and their families who are willing to surrender to take advantage of the opportunity.
Operation HADIN KAI reassured residents that troops would sustain intelligence-driven and offensive operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East.
The Joint Task Force also appealed to members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to security agencies to support ongoing operations and strengthen security across the theatre.
