Top Dealers, Transporters Drive Home Luxury Cars at Lafarge Africa Ceremony

Lafarge Africa Plc has honoured its highest-performing customers and transport partners at the 2025 Customer and Transporter Awards, acknowledging their vital role in strengthening the company’s footprint across Nigeria.

The event, held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, attracted key industry stakeholders, government representatives and business leaders who gathered to recognise partners whose commitment continues to fuel the company’s growth.

Notable guests included the Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai, and the Cross River State Commissioner for Women Affairs. Board members of Lafarge Africa Plc — Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, Mrs. Olusola Oworu and Mrs. Elenda Osima-Dokubo — were also in attendance, alongside members of management and staff.

The annual ceremony, a major fixture in the company’s commercial calendar, celebrates distributors and transporters responsible for delivering Lafarge Africa’s cement and innovative building solutions to customers nationwide. This year’s edition highlighted exceptional performance, resilience and integrity despite prevailing economic pressures.

Elder Ubong Bassey Obot of Ubotex Nigeria Limited emerged as the National Volume Champion, earning the top prize of a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser. Igwe Cosmas Ezeumeh Chizoba of C.C. Umeh and Sons Limited claimed the first runner-up position with a 2026 Toyota Prado, while Chief Etim Effiong Okon of Batoframoje Enterprises secured second runner-up and received a 2026 Toyota Fortuner.

In the transporters’ category, B.I.G MultiQuest Nigeria Limited was recognised as the National Best Transporter and awarded a 2026 Toyota Hilux.

Other recognitions included 15KVA generating sets for two National Growth Champions and Toyota RAV4 vehicles for four regional champions. Additional prizes ranged from Changan CS55, GAC S3 and Hyundai Creta cars to 13KVA solar inverters, 80-inch Hisense televisions and deep freezers.

Addressing guests, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, expressed gratitude to partners for their steadfast loyalty and collaboration.

He noted that the company’s progress in 2025 was driven by strong partnerships, pointing to expanded retail operations, improved customer experience initiatives and growth in its ready-mix concrete segment. He also referenced the introduction of innovative and environmentally conscious products such as Ecoplanet Elephant and Ecocrete, designed to support sustainable construction practices.

He emphasised that the company’s successes were made possible through the confidence, insights and consistent backing of its trade partners.

Commercial Director Gbenga Onimowo, in his remarks, described customers and transporters as the backbone of the company’s success, commending their dedication and shared commitment to excellence. He said the awards aim not only to recognise performance but also to inspire continued growth.

Logistics Director Osaze Aghatise also applauded transporters for playing a critical distribution role, ensuring timely delivery of products across the country. He added that the awards serve as motivation for partners to sustain high standards and efficiency.

The evening featured multiple award presentations, entertainment and networking, reflecting the enduring partnership and shared vision that underpin Lafarge Africa’s continued leadership in Nigeria’s building solutions industry.
