Troops Rescue Widow of Late Major General Rabe Abubakar from Bandits in Katsina
The Armed Forces of Nigeria have rescued Mrs. Amina Abubakar, widow of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar and former Director of Defence Information, following a successful operation by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA supported by the Nigerian Air Force.
The rescue followed intensified search-and-rescue operations by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA as security forces sustained pressure on criminal elements operating in the area.
According to military authorities, troops made contact with the bandits at Tunga Village during ongoing offensive operations, leading to the successful recovery of Mrs. Abubakar.
The bandits reportedly shot her during the encounter before abandoning her and fleeing in the face of the advancing troops.
Mrs. Abubakar was immediately evacuated to a military hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and responding positively to medical care.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria assured that all necessary medical attention and support are being provided to ensure her full recovery, while also supporting her family during this challenging period.
Military authorities further stated that troops will continue operations to track down and neutralise the perpetrators, as efforts intensify to eliminate terrorists and bandits from affected communities in Katsina State and across the country.
