Usher Defends Diddy, Praises His Legacy, Influence in Music Industry
Grammy-winning R&B star Usher has come out in defence of hip-hop mogul Sean Combs, pushing back against what he described as negative public perception and misrepresentation.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Usher stated that his personal experience with Combs differed from widely circulated narratives.
“I don’t have anything negative to say about Sean Combs. My experience was not what the world has seen,” he said, adding that some individuals are often criticised despite their contributions to society.
Describing Diddy as a “legacy,” Usher praised his influence in shaping hip-hop culture and creating opportunities for Black entrepreneurs within the music industry. He also credited his early exposure to Combs’ discipline and business approach as instrumental in shaping his own journey as an artist and entrepreneur.
In response, Combs, through a spokesperson, expressed appreciation for Usher’s remarks, saying, “I’ve always had love and respect for Usher. I appreciate his words and everything he’s achieved.”
