Anambra 2021: PDP group support for Ezeemo ahead of primaries
As political parties gear up for primaries leading up to the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, some stakeholders in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have thrown their support behind Mr Godwin Ezeemo as their preferred candidate for the party.
Speaking in Awka Thursday during a surprise party to welcome Ezeemo after months of travel abroad, Chief Christopher Udoye advised the delegates not to allow moneybags to hijack their governorship primary so that the will of the people would prevail.
According to him, Ezeemo, having invested heavily in the state, including in agriculture, hospitality, oil and gas, and publishing, is the only candidate with the capacity to dislodge the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) from the state government house.
Contributing, Hon Ibuchim Ezekwelu and Chief Dan Igbokwubili said the aspirant has invested greatly in human capital with over a thousand staff in all his businesses in the state alone.
Governorship aspirant Ezeemo said his priority was to make Anambra the number one state in all areas of development.
He described Anambra as a state with an abundance of human and material resources which when harnessed and under a visionary leader as governor, the state has the potential to become a world centre of excellence.
“I have experienced every sector of life and living and I am more than certain that I am at that level when I must bring home the sort of development Anambra deserves. I am particularly concerned with what I can do in Anambra not on the basis of zoning or any other factors,’ the businessman/politician said.
“My experience over the years in contesting for this same position serves as high cultivation of understanding on what Anambra people actually want from the state governor. The number of persons coming out for governorship… is proof of the caliber of high profile personalities the state prides itself on,” he said.
