Arewa Youth Trust Foundation harps on peace-building

Arewa Youth Trust Foundation has called on Nigerians particularly those in leadership positions to place a premium on sensitization campaigns of youths and women on the importance of peace.

The Team Lead of the foundation, Dr Fahad Chikaji, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Chikaji asked leaders to embark on public enlightenment, sensitisation campaigns and more counseling of youths and women on positive values.

He said the move would help build sustainable peace in the country, adding that the level of insecurity would therefore reduce to its barest minimum.

“We all need to rise up and strive towards a common goal of securing Nigeria against all adversities bedeviling it,” he said.

According to him, securing Nigeria will amount to securing the future of children and that of unborn generations.

He appealed to Nigerians on the need to join hands in supporting the government’s efforts towards curtailing and stemming the menace of insecurity.

“This can be achieved by seeking Allah’s intervention, especially during this holy month of Ramadan; through constant and consistent prayers by religious, traditional rulers and the general public,” Chikaji said. (NAN)
