The DHQ clarified that the video actually originated from an incident in the Sambisa forest in 2021, involving the spouses of Boko Haram members during an operation to capture their strongholds.

The DHQ emphasised that the soldiers involved in the 2021 incident were promptly punished by military authorities for their unprofessional conduct.
“The dissemination of the old video with false location information is causing unnecessary alarm and could potentially worsen the security situation in Plateau State,” the DHQ said in a release signed by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau.
The DHQ urged the individuals responsible for recirculating the video to desist from doing so, as their actions are detrimental to the security efforts of Operation SAFE HAVEN.
The DHQ appealed to stakeholders and the public to refrain from spreading misinformation that could undermine the collective goal of ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. The DHQ’s statement highlighted its dedication to promoting peace and stability in Plateau State and encouraged cooperation from all parties to maintain security and address challenges effectively.
The forces remain committed to bringing the perpetrators of recent heinous acts to justice and fostering peace and stability in Plateau State.
