Isah Lawal, 33, was apprehended by a crack team led by SP Aliyu Mohammed Auwal during a routine patrol near the Kano-Kaduna border. The cows and sheep, apparently stolen goods, led investigators to uncover Lawal’s confession: fleeing a rival gang clash in Kaduna, he intended to set up camp in Kano’s Gwarzo-Karaye Forest.
“This arrest highlights the commendable efforts of our officers and their commitment to tackling banditry,” declared Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel. He further directed additional resources to border areas, praising the public’s continued support and urging them to report suspicious activity.
Lawal’s moo-vement may have come to an end, but the fight against banditry continues. With increased vigilance and collaboration, Kano authorities hope to keep their state a safe pasture for all.
