BBC ready to publicise documentary detailing sexual crimes of Late TB Joshua

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is set to release a 3-part investigative documentary revealing insights on how late TB Joshua allegedly harassed women sexually.

The now-deceased SCOAN founder’s covert lifestyle was exposed in the three-part series. It told graphic tales of rape, abuse, deception, and staged healings.

Sources informed BBC that, despite awareness within the church of various accusations, no internal investigations were conducted. They said that more than 20 years passed during the sexual offense.

The documentary segment revealed that SCOAN concealed the truth from its members regarding the 2014 collapse of one of the church’s guesthouse. Members were repeatedly shown a brief film of the building with what seemed to be an aircraft flying over it on Emmanuel TV.

“On television, they were showing us the building had been bombed,” one of the sources who lost her daughter in the collapsed building told BBC.

“They told us don’t tell what you know,” Emmanuel, another worker at SCOAN said in the film. “They knew something was wrong with the building but they were managing it.”

SCOAN later paid the families of the victims cash as compensation which they interpreted to be “hush money”. A church worker who was part of those who handed the money to victims’ families in South Africa said TB Joshua asked that she instruct the grieving families not to speak to the media. Then, Joshua personally threatened families who refused the money, sources told the BBC.

Some disciples of the late TB Joshua recounted some of the physical and psychological abuse they encountered in the BBC investigative piece.

In one of the episodes shared by BBC Africa, some of the disciples who at that time were underage recounted how they were abused severally.

One disclosed how she was slapped by the late TB Joshua for not publishing an article on time while the others described him as a hot-tempered man.
