BRAVE-IT Condemns Plateau Attacks, Calls for Investigation, Support for Security Personnel

Resilience Against Violent Extremism Insurgency and Terrorism (BRAVE-IT) has strongly denounced the recent onslaughts by armed militia in several regions of Plateau State, resulting in devastating loss of innocent lives across Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, and Mangu Local Government Areas.
In a press statement issued by Lawrence Audu, the Director of Communication for BRAVE-IT, the organisation commended the prompt and effective response of the Nigerian Army and other Security Agencies in Plateau State. Their decisive actions curtailed further casualties, displaying a commitment to protecting civilians in the face of adversity.
The statement emphasised the unwavering dedication and valour of security personnel who risk their lives daily to ensure the safety of citizens. BRAVE-IT acknowledged and appreciated their courage and professionalism amidst challenging circumstances.
Furthermore, the organisation extended gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promptly extending hope and support to the affected victims. Additionally, commendation was directed towards Chief of Defence Staff General CG Musa and other service Chiefs for their immediate presence in the affected areas, showing solidarity with the victims and their families during this trying period.
BRAVE-IT urged authorities to establish a high-powered commission of inquiry to thoroughly investigate the attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice. The call for justice echoes the collective sentiment for accountability and a firm stance against such acts of violence.
Moreover, the organisation appealed to citizens to continue offering support to the country’s security forces, particularly during this heightened period of security threats. Solidarity and cooperation from the populace are crucial in fortifying efforts to tackle security challenges across the nation.
