CGC Adeniyi gave the charge during the opening ceremony of a training programme for CIU officers at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada. According to the Comptroller-General, intelligence remains the backbone of effective border management, enforcement, and revenue generation in today’s complex security environment. He urged officers to approach the training with commitment and a renewed sense of responsibility, noting that intelligence-led operations enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and improve national outcomes.

Welcoming the officers to the College, CGC Adeniyi noted that the programme was coming at a critical time, as the Service intensifies efforts to strengthen its intelligence capabilities. He encouraged participants to see the new year as an opportunity to make tangible contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service and to national development through professionalism, vigilance, and innovation.
