COAS’s wife reaffirms education support for troops’ children
Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, the wife of the Nigeria Chief of Army Staff and president of the Nigeria Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), has reaffirmed her commitment to aiding troops in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity by ensuring children at barracks receive a high-quality education.
Mrs Lagbaja disclosed this in Sokoto, where she laid the foundation stone for an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre and inaugurated other projects at the NAOWA Model Primary School, located within the Giginya Army Barracks in Sokoto.

In addition to distributing food items and essential supplies, especially to the widows of fallen heroes, she emphasized NAOWA’s enduring dedication to supporting the barracks community and the children of soldiers in their pursuit of quality education, thereby enhancing their overall well-being.
She lauded the dedication and unwavering commitment of the chairperson of NAOWA at the Giginya Army Barracks for their remarkable legacy of creating a peaceful and conducive learning environment for children at the NAOWA Model School within the barracks.
