Core Northern Professionals Forum Urges Northern Elders to Cease Opposition Against Tinubu Administration
By Matthew Eloyi
A group known as the Core Northern Professionals Forum has issued a statement advising the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) to desist from unwarranted opposition against the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The forum’s President General, Mikailu Kabir-Arabi, emphasized the need for maturity and cooperation among elders, urging the NEF to collaborate with the government for the country’s progress.
In response to criticisms from the NEF and former National Assembly member Sen. Kabir Marafa, the Core Northern Professionals Forum stressed the importance of supporting the Tinubu administration’s efforts for the nation’s development.
The forum dismissed attempts to derail the administration through sentiment manipulation, asserting that the North would overwhelmingly support Tinubu in any election, with or without NEF’s endorsement.
The forum emphasized the necessity of integrity-driven leadership to address the region’s challenges and urged politicians like Marafa to adapt to the dynamic nature of politics. It cautioned against disparaging the administration, describing such actions as mischief aimed at seeking relevance.
Furthermore, the group encouraged the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, to focus on tackling security challenges rather than engaging with detractors. Praising Matawalle’s contributions to security efforts, the forum affirmed its support for the Tinubu-led administration until peace is achieved.
In conclusion, the Core Northern Professionals Forum reiterated its commitment to supporting the government’s initiatives and called for collective efforts to address Nigeria’s security concerns.
