Chairman of Cosgrove Investment Limited, Mr. Umar Abdullahi, OFR, has drawn nationwide attention after gifting properties valued at an estimated ₦4 billion to staff of the company in an extraordinary show of appreciation for their dedication, loyalty and contributions to the firm’s growth.

The surprise gesture, announced internally, benefited long-serving and high-performing employees across various departments. Mr. Umar Abdullahi is a renowned Nigerian entrepreneur and real estate developer with over two decades of experience spanning real estate development, investment and financial services. He is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cosgrove Investment Limited, a company that has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading real estate developers, particularly known for pioneering smart estates and technology-driven housing solutions.

A graduate of Bayero University, Kano, Umar Abdullahi has also undertaken executive leadership and management programmes at leading institutions, including Cranfield University in the United Kingdom and Harvard Business School. Before founding Cosgrove, he served as Managing Director of Brains & Hammers Ltd, where he supervised several large-scale housing and infrastructure projects.

Under his leadership, Cosgrove Investment Limited has distinguished itself through innovative developments that integrate smart home technology, advanced security systems and modern infrastructure, contributing significantly to addressing Nigeria’s housing needs.
