A very dynamic non-governmental organization, PLAY it DREAM it, an initiative of FAME Foundation made on, Sunday, March 28, 2021, a memorable one for a good number of girls from Internally Displaced Camp in Abuja. The initiator, Erelu Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, and her team were on the ground to coordinate the excited children.

The brightness of the afternoon made the day even more beautiful as PLAY it DREAM it converged the little ones for a book reading session. The book, The Legend of Buratai Volumes one and two was read to these children who surprisingly, were very attentive as chapters of these books were read to them.

One of the older boys who knew how to swim very well for inexplicable reasons swam in my direction and shouted in Hausa when his legs touched my body:

“Kai! Akwai mutum anan fa,” meaning “there is someone here!!”

He wasted no time and followed his instinct. He just dived under the water again, grabbed me and raised me up”.

My brother Ibrahim and the other boys decided to press my stomach and chest in the hope that I would vomit water out. Nothing came out of my mouth, because I had not swallowed anything while I was under water’ – Vol. 2 p.48

‘Providence has a special way of connecting different individuals and events. What is important my dear child is to know that there is no such thing as mere coincidence in life.’ – Vol. 1 p. 62

Reading from these passages left all the children spellbound. They wanted more. There were also members of the team that translated from English to Hausa, for those who needed an in-depth understanding of the passages.

The reading session was coordinated by Moses Uyang and Musa Hussaini Jajere as well as members of FAME Foundation.

Even as they were there to listen to some awesome stories, they also had time to happily run around, playing football and engaging in other healthy exercises.
