The Dangote Group has confirmed its sponsorship and active participation in the Kano International Trade Fair, scheduled to run from November 22 to December 6, 2025. The annual event is set to attract over a thousand exhibitors from across Nigeria and abroad.
In a statement, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer, highlighted Kano’s significance to Dangote’s business operations, describing the city as a major hub of commerce in Nigeria and Africa.
“Kano is central to our overall businesses, and it is the hub of commerce, not only in Nigeria, but in Africa,” he said.
Chiejina noted that one of Dangote’s large-scale rice mills is based in Kano, with other plants under development in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi, and Sokoto States. Combined, these facilities will have a milling capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum, supporting the government’s food security initiatives.
At the fair, Dangote subsidiaries will operate dedicated help desks to engage with attendees for potential business partnerships. In addition, the company will unveil new sugar pack sizes of 100 grams and 25 kilograms during its Special Day at the event.
The theme of this year’s trade fair, Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Growth, aligns with Dangote’s vision of fostering sustainable development in Nigeria. Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser for Special Projects & Strategic Relations to the Dangote Group President, said:
“Through our sponsorship of the Kano Trade Fair, we seek to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises with opportunities to showcase their products, connect with potential partners, and access new markets, ultimately strengthening the nation’s economic growth.”
Ambassador Hassan Usman Darma, President of the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA), said the 2025 edition of the fair stands out due to significant site improvements, expansion, and new structures. He confirmed that over 1,000 exhibitors and around 100 organizations are expected to participate.
Amb Darma added: “The Dangote Group is one of our key sponsors and promoters. We value our long-standing relationship with them and look forward to partnering on SME development, backward integration, and industrial skills transfer.”
The Kano International Trade Fair 2025 promises five days of networking, business opportunities, and product showcases, reinforcing the city’s role as a commercial hub in West Africa.
