The event, held on Sunday, January 21st, attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic individuals eager to embrace a healthy lifestyle in 2024.

“For his faithfulness, his blessings, his mercies, and the goodness in our lives, we thank God for a New Year.” Mrs. Musa expressed her gratitude as she addressed the crowd. Her warm welcome set the tone for the invigorating morning, filled with cheers, laughter, and a shared commitment to fitness.
The walk served as a reminder of the crucial role exercise plays in maintaining good health. “We must be deliberate about our health,” emphasised Mrs. Musa. “We must take care of ourselves before we’ll be able to take care of the home and everybody.”

This message resonated with participants, particularly the emphasis on exercise being as essential as food for the body.
The event went beyond simply promoting physical activity.

DEPIWA partnered with medical professionals to conduct health screenings on-site, identifying individuals who might require further medical attention.

This proactive approach to healthcare aligns with DEPIWA’s dedication to the holistic well-being of its members and the wider community.

Furthermore, Mrs. Musa announced a commendable initiative to sponsor 40 women for free mammograms. This commitment to women’s health demonstrates DEPIWA’s understanding of the unique healthcare needs of its female members and their families.

The success of the event is a testament to DEPIWA’s leadership in promoting healthy lifestyles within the military community. Mrs. Musa’s enthusiasm and dedication were contagious, inspiring participants to embrace exercise and prioritise their health throughout the year.

The event concluded with a call to action, encouraging everyone to continue incorporating physical activity into their daily routines and seeking medical attention when necessary.

In conclusion, DEPOWA’s New Year fitness walk was more than just a physical activity; it was a celebration of health, community, and proactive well-being.

Mrs. Musa’s leadership and the organisation’s commitment to healthcare initiatives inspire hope for a healthier and happier year for all.
