Edo NANTAP, UNIBEN to Celebrate World Theatre Day 2025 with Performances, Lectures

The Edo State Chapter of the National Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), in collaboration with the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Benin (UNIBEN), is set to host a vibrant celebration of World Theatre Day 2025 on March 27, 2025.
With the theme “Theatre as a Beacon of Hope and National Rebirth,” the event aims to highlight the transformative power of theatre in fostering unity, inspiring change, and driving national development.
The celebration, scheduled to take place at the Theatre Hall, Department of Theatre Arts, UNIBEN, Ekehuan Campus, from 10:00 AM, will feature a variety of activities, including: Theatre Performances by renowned practitioners and students; Panel Sessions featuring leading voices in the industry; Lectures and Workshops on the role of theatre in national development; Networking Opportunities for theatre professionals, students, and enthusiasts.
Speaking ahead of the event, NANTAP Edo State Chairman, DT Love Osadolor fta, emphasized the significance of the celebration, stating:
“World Theatre Day is a moment to honor the rich heritage of theatre and its impact on storytelling, culture, and social change. This year’s theme challenges us to use theatre as a force for national rebirth.”
The event is open to theatre practitioners, students, cultural enthusiasts, and the general public, promising an engaging and enlightening experience for all attendees.
