El-Rufai Sues ICPC Over Alleged Unlawful Raid on Abuja Residence

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has filed a suit against the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), challenging what he described as an unlawful invasion of his Abuja residence.

The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/345/2026 and filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeks to nullify a search warrant reportedly issued by a magistrate court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on February 4. The warrant had authorised the search and seizure of items at the former governor’s home.

El-Rufai, through his legal team led by Oluwole Iyamu, is asking the court to declare the warrant invalid, arguing that its issuance and execution were improper and unconstitutional.

The development adds a new legal dimension to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the former governor, as the court is expected to determine the validity of the warrant and the actions taken by the anti-graft agency.
