Fabiyi Alleges Fallout with Funke Akindele After House Completion Revelation

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred fresh controversy in the film industry after revealing details of an alleged breakdown in his relationship with colleague Funke Akindele.

In a video currently circulating online, Fabiyi claimed that Akindele stopped communicating with him shortly after he informed her that he had completed his house. According to the actor, the incident marked the end of what he described as a longstanding friendship, insisting that he had done nothing to offend her.

Fabiyi further used the revelation to criticise the broader Nollywood industry, alleging that public perceptions of certain personalities do not always reflect reality. “Our industry is very terrible. Those whom you think are good people aren’t,” he said in the video.

The actor’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users expressing surprise at the claim, while others questioned the timing and intent behind the disclosure.

This is not the first time Fabiyi has publicly addressed issues involving colleagues. In previous statements, he had taken aim at other industry figures, including Iyabo Ojo, highlighting what he described as personal and professional grievances.

Fabiyi, who completed his house in 2024 and dedicated it to his mother, has often pointed to his achievements as evidence of success among male actors in Nollywood. His latest remarks, however, have once again placed him at the centre of public debate over relationships and rivalry within the entertainment industry.
