The two-day conference, scheduled for February 9 and 10, 2026, will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. It is being convened by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and will bring together state governors, key national stakeholders, development partners, and private-sector leaders.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who chairs the National Economic Council, is expected to preside over the summit, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will attend as the Special Guest of Honour.
The conference is themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan” and is expected to generate policy directions to help states align with the Federal Government’s long-term economic agenda under the Renewed Hope framework.
According to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Secretary of the NEC, Dr. Deborah Oko Odo, the conference will focus on addressing pressing macroeconomic priorities facing the country.
“The conference will focus on national economic issues aimed at encouraging economic growth and development across the country,” Dr. Odo said.
Discussions at the summit will include fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation, and strategies for shared development between the federal and state governments, as Nigeria seeks to deepen reforms and promote sustainable economic growth nationwide.
The conference is expected to reinforce collaboration across all levels of government and set the tone for coordinated implementation of economic policies in the years ahead.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), dated February 8, 2026.
