Maj Gen Ibrahim Sallau Ali, Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), has pushed for community involvement in the battle against Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin.
He made this announcement on Monday during the opening ceremony of an international workshop on fostering local resilience against terrorism and violent extremism in the Lake Chad Basin.
Gen Ali emphasized that the programme aims to encourage proactive participation and engagement by the victims at the centre of the crisis—local communities.
This great goal goes beyond merely raising awareness. It attempts to equip these communities with the knowledge they need to comprehend the nature of the war and effectively combat terrorism.
